The customer chose to have a grinder, severely worn and no longer able to operate let alone hold size, rebuilt rather than purchase a new or used machine for a considerable higher price.
After removing the machine from our customer’s facility and examining the machine it was determined that the bed was totally destroyed and no longer repairable. In spite of the extent of the wear and tear the customer still chose to remanufacture the grinder. A completely new bed was designed and built using THK bearings to provide accurate and repeatable positioning of the table.
The horizontal motion is provided by a hydraulic cylinder and digital encoder. Project responsibility was turnkey including the disconnect, rigging, transportation and reinstallation after rebuild. The breadth of resources provided by Industrial Services, Inc. allowed us to perform the entire project to the complete satisfaction of our customer.
